There weren’t many more thrilling sports tales going into the 2023 World Series than the ones the Rangers and Diamondbacks gave their supporters during the last few weeks of the season and the MLB playoffs this year.

Texas’s approach to the game was fan-friendly, as they used their offensive prowess to overwhelm opponents and get to the championship series. Arizona produced a memorable tale of a “Little Engine that Could,” defeating some of the league’s top teams en route to the World Series despite only winning 84 games.

Regretfully for MLB, such intriguing stories haven’t done much to pique baseball fans’ interest. Although the Game 4 television ratings have not yet been released, it is likely that they will be low given that the first three games of the 2023 World Series have already established new lows for the MLB championship.
