TRADE NEWS: Yankees are ‘closely monitoring’ the trade situation for their superstar player in a potential super deal

It’s possible that the New York Yankees will make baseball’s greatest offseason splash.

There will be a lоt оf mоvement in baseball this winter, but the biggest name tо keep an eye оn is Juan Sоtо оf the San Diegо Padres. At оnly 25, he is already cоnsidered оne оf the spоrt’s elite perfоrmers. The New Yоrk Yankees have repоrtedly been “clоsely mоnitоring” his status, as repоrted by The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner, making a deal invоlving him quite plausible this summer.

“But internally discussing the possibility of Soto is not new,” added Kirschner. Since far before this season’s trade deadline, the Yankees have been keeping a careful eye on the Padres’ roster, notably Soto, and the team’s payroll crisis. The Padres’ struggles at the trade deadline prompted the Yankees to send one of its seasoned scouts to San Diego to evaluate the team’s squad. Soto has been highly regarded by the Yankees organisation.

There have been rumours that the Yankees are interested in signing Soto. It’s not apparent if there have been any preliminary talks on a settlement between the two parties. It has been stated both that the two parties have already communicated and that they have not but expect to do so shortly.

Obtaining Soto during this offseason would be the greatest priority for the Yankees. A new outfielder and a left-handed power hitter are both needed for New York’s club. Soto is a perfect match for the Yankees and would help them get back into playoff contention right away. There will probably be further ties between the two groups in the future.
