The Denver Nuggets have concluded the preseason with a winning record for the second consecutive year
In their last preseason game on Thursday night, Denver defeated the LA Clippers, 103-90. The Nuggets now have a 3-2 record in the season’s exhibition phase after this revenge game against Los Angeles on Tuesday.
In just 28 minutes of play, Nikola Jokić finished with 25 points and 14 rebounds, displaying incredible skill. In his final warm-up before the Los Angeles Lakers game, he played a little bit of everything, making amazing passes and shooting a cool three-of-six.
The Clippers’ high man, Bones Hyland, finished with 25 points on 10 of 15 shots. Regretfully, he sustained an ankle injury in the third quarter and was unable to play again.
Jokić scored a lot of goals in the first half. With eight rebounds, seven assists, and ten points on six of ten shots, he packed the box score. It appeared as though he had mastered the offensive end of the court, as he skillfully swung the ball across the floor on no-look passes to teammates and sank ridiculous one-footed fallaway jumpers. On the other end of the court, Hyland led the Clippers with 20 points on 9 of 13 shooting. Both sides were tied at 53 points at the end of the first half.
Jokić replied by keeping up his impressive performance as head coach Michael Malone started the second half with his starters in place. Before being replaced at the 2:02 point in the third quarter, he finished with a final total of 25 points and 14 rebounds in 28 minutes. The Nuggets now had a 7-point advantage. Denver’s bench group was able to extend their lead despite the absence of their starting lineup. A fourth quarter 11-4 run allowed the group to cruise across the finish line with a comfortable advantage and their third victory of preseason.
