In a preseason matchup between the San Antonio Spurs and a depleted Miami Heat squad, the Spurs secured a 120-104 victory. With both teams experimenting with lineups, the game lacked the intensity of a regular-season contest. However, it showcased impressive performances from star players Victor Wembanyama and Devin Vasell, who contributed significantly.

 

Wembanyama led the scoring with 23 points, while Vasell added 21 points, all from three-pointers. Jamal Cain led the Heat with 24 points, including six three-pointers. Notably, the Heat left most of their regular-season rotation players at home, a move that would incur a substantial fine in the regular season.

 

Spurs’ coach Gregg Popovich used the preseason game to explore different lineup combinations, starting with Devin Vassell, Cedi Osman, Jeremy Sochan, Victor Wembanyama, and Charles Bassey.
