How Chelsea can lineup for Arsenal game with 3 key players back from injury
The biggest London derby will be upon us immediately after the international break with Chelsea taking on Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino has some sort of selection headache ahead of the game. Raheem Sterling was directly involved in four goals against Burnley while an inform Mykhailo Mudryk was benched due to a knock he suffered after scoring in the Fulham win. It begs the question, who starts on the left-wing?
On the right-wing, Cole Palmer has performed brilliantly with three assists and a goal in six games. But watching Noni Madueke score twice for England’s under-21 could tempt Pochettino to give him a chance, particularly if Palmer isn’t fit to start.
Chelsea’s midfield is pretty much set unless there are serious injuries. Conor Gallagher has been in superb form and should start alongside his expensive compatriots — Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.
In defence, Chelsea are expecting three players to return including skipper Reece James, Badiashile and Trevor Chalobah. Of the trio, only James can be expected to walk into the starting XI right away.
Here’s a lineup we could see from Pochettino against Arsenal:
Chelsea XI: Sanchez; Colwill, Silva, DIsasi, James; Caicedo, Gallagher, Enzo; Sterling, Jackson, Palmer
However, Chelsea would be praying that none of their key players suffers an injury during the international window. There’s already a worry about Palmer who suffered a dead leg playing for England this week.
