ARLINGTON, Texas — That is indeed the case
There will be a battle in the American League Championship Series between the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros, with a trip to the World Series at stake.
At Target Field on Wednesday night, the Astros defeated the Minnesota Twins 3-2 in Game 4.
There is no postseason meeting between the AL West rivals. Since the Astros relocated from the NL Central in 2013, they have played together in the AL West.
Dusty Baker, the manager of the Astros, stated, “They know us and we know them.”
The ALCS will resume with the defending World Series champion Astros hosting Game 1 on Sunday night at Minute Maid Park. This is a record eighth straight ALCS.
Following the Houston Astros’ AL West championship victory over the Texas Rangers, a rivalry erupted as a result of the Astros’ official social media accounts making some subtle jabs at the Rangers for celebrating their postseason participation on Saturday night.
While both teams placed 90-72 in the AL West, the Astros were victorious in the division thanks to their 9-4 advantage over the Rangers in head-to-head play. Houston destroyed Texas at Globe Life Park on September 4-6, with the division lead on the line. The Astros outscored the Rangers 39-10 and won the series.
