After the Mavs and Real Madrid played an exhibition game, Dallas star Luka Doncic hasn’t ruled out playing for Real Madrid again in the future
Real Madrid defeated Dallas 123-127 in Spain, although Luka was only able to play five minutes because of a nagging calf injury.
Despite this, he was still able to score nine points on pull-up threes.
All the memories flooded back, as the point guard grew with Madrid prior to declaring for the 2018 NBA Draft.
“A lot of memories,” Doncic remarked. Simply being present. There are many recollections from being here, from Valdebebas, and from Madrid. Lovely memories. And yeah, I’m glad to be back.
He was so thrilled to be back that, while he acknowledged that he would only be going back to Europe with his former squad, he did mention an eventual comeback.
“I will definitely return to Madrid if I ever make it back to Europe. That’s accurate to a T,” Doncic declared. “I don’t know what the future holds, but Madrid will undoubtedly be my first stop if I return to Europe.”
With a player option in the final year, the Slovenian native’s contract with Dallas runs through the 2026–2027 season.
In 2025, he will also be able to sign an extension, making him the first player in the NBA to earn a salary of $80 million, a record that could last for some time.
The 24-year-old gives Real Madrid a lot of credit for helping him get to where he is now, though.
Doncic remarked, “I definitely wouldn’t be where I am now.” As I previously mentioned, this is where I learned how to do everything. I learned how to study, communicate, play basketball, and a lot more. Without a doubt, I would not be where I am today.
