How the Texas Rangers have improved because to Creed’s music

The Rangers-Orioles ALDS third game might sound like a Creed concert

Rangers pitcher Andrew Heaney disclosed before Texas took a 2-0 series lead over top-seeded Baltimore that the team began listening to the rock group Creed before games to decompress after a rocky second half to the regular season.

Texas’ pregame routine persisted as the team earned its first postseason trip since 2016 and went on to win its first playoff series since 2011 by sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Rangers, who are now one victory away from the ALCS, are scheduled to play their first home game of the 2023 playoffs. Heaney also hopes to hear Creed’s song this week at Globe Life Field, with Rangers fans singing along (h/t Rangers play-by-play announcer Jared Sandler).

The Rangers aren’t the first sports team to use Creed’s music as their unofficial theme song, despite popular belief.

The Rangers are undoubtedly hoping that Creed’s music would elevate them beyond merely making it to the World Series.
