Chris Paul combined with old man Steph Curry to overwhelm the Lakers

Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, expressed his admiration for Chris Paul following the guard’s successful preseason debut in a Saturday night victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center

Paul, 38, helped Stephen Curry make his first on-court assist as he set up a 3-pointer in the opening quarter. After the game, Kerr gave an interview to the media, complimenting CP3’s performance and said it’s “fun to have him on our side.”

Chris is incredible, Kerr exclaimed. “He is an excellent passer and keeps the game very simple. As a coach, there’s a certain cadence to the game where you can almost guarantee that your player will consistently make the appropriate play.

“And because he knows the game’s rhythm, he knows when we need to pull it back, start acting, or play quicker. Chris is incredible. Having him finally on our side is a lot of fun.”

The stats of Chris Paul on his Warriors debutPaul played 13 minutes and finished with six points, five assists, and four rebounds. In the second quarter, he assisted Curry once again on a three-pointer.

Curry, 35, only contributed eight points and 13 minutes of play. Jonathan Kuminga scored the most points in the game—24 in the course of 24 minutes.

The Lakers did not have LeBron James on the court, but in the first half, Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell carried the squad.
