Before the 2023–24 season, that was the main question the Warriors needed to address. The Warriors are not happy with Draymond Green’s injury, but at least it has bought them some time before they have to make some important decisions. As of right now, Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Kevon Looney are the starting lineup for the Warriors. Green is slated to have another evaluation one week from this coming Monday, according to C.J. Holmes of The San Francisco Chronicle. The Warriors will continue to monitor Green’s ailment.
Green was extremely durable for the Warriors this past season. With 31.5 minutes per game, he played in 73 games, all of which he started. He shot 52.7 percent from the field, 30.5 percent from three-point range, and 71.3 percent from the free-throw line while averaging 8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 1.0 steals a game.
Green had an average of 9.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 assists per game during the playoffs. He also shot 46.2 percent from the field, 25 percent from three-point range, and 72.7 percent from the free-throw line. In three of the Warriors’ twelve postseason games, he was used off the bench.
If the Warriors are to become title contenders again, they need Green to be healthy.
