The Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers met on Saturday to begin the preseason. The Lakers started Anthony Davis, D’Angelo Russell, Gabe Vincent, Rui Hachimura, and Jarred Vanderbilt in the starting lineup when star player LeBron James did not suit up as anticipated. Preseason gives players a chance to demonstrate why they belong in the regular season rotation, even though it ultimately means nothing. Cam Reddish is one of the Lakers players fighting for playing time. However, things didn’t go as planned on Saturday against the Warriors, when Cam Reddish was injured and had to leave the game.
Cam Reddish will not play in the Lakers game against the Warriors because of a right ankle injury, according to Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet.
Reddish became a free agency this offseason and signed with the Lakers. During the previous season, he played for both the Portland Trail Blazers and the New York Knicks. The Knicks traded him to the Blazers at the deadline as part of a four-team deal that also featured the Charlotte Hornets and Philadelphia 76ers because he had fallen out of their rotation.
The Atlanta Hawks selected Reddish with the tenth overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He was traded by the Hawks to the Knicks in the 2021–2022 campaign.
In 40 games between the Knicks and Blazers last season, Reddish averaged 9.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 steals while shooting 44.6 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from three-point range, and 85.3 percent from the free-throw line.
