Chris Paul scores the game’s first bucket for the Warriors against the Lakersl

Chris Paul is now officially a part of the Golden State Warriors. When he made his first bucket while wearing a Dubs jersey on Saturday during their preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Point God officially made it official.

Paul’s first basket in the Warriors’ uniform was as flawless. Early in the game’s first quarter, CP3 discovered that he had some room close to the rim. He wasted no time in taking advantage of the situation and fired a beautiful mid-range jumper.

Furthermore, it’s the Warriors’ first score of the evening. Paul makes an incredible statement that seems to imply he is there to lead Golden State and play.

The largest offseason addition made by the Warriors is Chris Paul. Through the trade for Paul and the subsequent release of Jordan Poole, the Dubs essentially changed their strategy from competing and preparing for the future to going all in to win now, no matter what.

Given that Paul’s style of play doesn’t exactly mesh with the Dubs’ brand of basketball, there have been many doubts regarding whether or not he fits in with Golden State. However, given what he demonstrated in the preseason against the Lakers, those worries are completely unfounded.

Apart from his first basket, Paul was a productive player who had no trouble adjusting to playing with new teammates following his three-year stint with the Phoenix Suns.

If nothing else, Paul has given the Dubs supporters hope for his future with the team—even though it’s still only one game.
