NBA All – Star A. Davis collaborated with Ruffles on sneaker design as a creative partner

This week, there is a possibility that Anthony Davis will be able to add another position to his portfolio.

The six-time NBA All-Star, who has been in the news since being traded from the New Orleans Pelicans to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, is exhibiting his fashion and creative skills with a one-of-a-kind relationship that led to the creation of a trademark sneaker that looks like a bag of potato chips. This sneaker was designed in collaboration with a brand that specializes in making products that seem like food.

Today, Davis made an appearance in New York to introduce his new relationship with the Ruffles brand of potato chips manufactured by Frito-Lay. In addition, he showed off his brand-new footwear, which was designed by the bespoke shoemaker The Shoe Surgeon and named The Ruffles Ridge Tops.

The partnership is being referred to as the “Chip Deal,” and it is the first agreement of its sort. Davis, who is sponsored by Nike and is said to have “creative design input,” is taking his first major step (no pun intended) into the shoe manufacturing industry. And he has already found out a couple things that he didn’t anticipate finding out.

“Sometimes you have all these crаzy ideas and you just want to throw it on a shoe,” Davis said in an interview with FN. “But sometimes it doesn’t work and they’re like, ‘you can’t put that on a shoe.'” “I wouldn’t sаy it’s frustrating, but it most certainly opened my eyes,” she said. “It’s definitely opened my eyes.” I had the notion, “Man, there’s no way I can pull that off.” In the end, we were able to locate some things that worked and turn down some of the heat.

In the area close to the heel of the shoe is a hidden pocket that has a silver lining and a ribbed detail that is meant to seem like a Ruffles bag. Additionally, this area is designed to resemble a ridged chip. On the tongue of the shoe is a list of “Shoetrition Facts” that describes both the tangible and intangible characteristics of the shoe. This is comparable to the nutrition facts found on the majority of food products.

Davis was selected in the first round of the 2012 NBA Draft after having a fruitful collegiate career at the University of Kentucky. Since he started playing professional basketball seven years ago, he claimed that his sense of style has “evolved tremendously” in that time.

When I initially started working here, soon after I from college, I wore sweat suits every day. After that, I started getting asked to all of these high-end events, and I required suits and other classier, rowdier gear,” he said in an interview with FN. “I started working on that look, and it got better and better over the course of time.”

Davis’ limited-edition partnership with Ruffles can be found on the “Dunk High,” the athlete’s “favorite Nike silhouette,” which was designed in collaboration with Nike. “I simply adore the feeling of putting on Nikes.” Davis responded by saying, “I’ve been taught this my whole life.” “I’ve never worn that shoe for anything other than playing sports.” It just seemed appropriate to me at the time.”

People who buy a Ruffles bag between the dates of June 24 and August 4 and enter the code that is printed on the bag will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win fashion and sports products every day, with the grand prize consisting of a pair of sneakers co-designed by Ruffles and Davis.
