The star player for the Miami Heat, Jimmy Butler, has observed NBA Media Day as a personal holiday for the previous two seasons. This is your one chance to get the shot that will go down in history as your official portrait and be used for the remainder of the season.
Butler teased Heat center Bam Adebayo, saying, “This is my Halloween,” during a team photo.
Jimmy’s new appearance made quite a statement ahead of the 2023–2024 NBA season, leaving teammates stunned, laughing, and shaking their heads. It was almost like a glorified photo day.
Butler’s Instagram story picture featuring this new style ignited social media. His all-black ensemble was broken up by baggy pants and a robe with dangling tassels. Among the many components of the showcase robe was a skull over a statement that said, “The harder you look, the harder you look.”
Jimmy’s new hair was, of course, the most noticeable alteration to his look. Butler debuted at the 2022 Media Day with dreadlocks, but a year later, he changed it all up with perfectly straight hair that hung down over one eye to give off the “rockstar” appearance. Don’t believe us when we say that the black painted nails and piercings on his nose, lips, and eyes completed the “emo” look. They reminded us of Dennis Rodman.
Jimmy said, sounding a little cynical, “This is my emotional state,” to a reporter. “My emotions and I are one.”
Clippers guard Russell Westbrook makes incredible gesture ahead of NBA training camp
For his on-court performance, Russell Westbrook has frequently faced criticism, most of which has been perceived as excessive at times. But one thing that has been constant throughout his career is the admiration he has received from his teammates, many of whom have played with him and have had nothing but positive things to say about him as a teammate.A clear illustration of why has emerged ahead of the NBA training camp. The Los Angeles Clippers players were reportedly given a mini camp by the former MVP, who also kindly purchased an iPhone 15 for each player.Naturally, Westbrook isn’t likely to be overly concerned about the financial outlay given his career earnings of over $300 million, but his willingness to do it and his consideration for giving a gift that no one would consider necessary are indicative of many of his teammates’ previous comments about him.Just a few weeks prior, Austin Reaves, a budding star for the Lakers, praised Westbrook as a teammate, calling him “one of my favorite teammates I’ve ever had.” After Reaves related a story of having COVID-19, Westbrook contacted him several times a week to see if he needed anything. He then said, “As far as a person, you won’t get anyone better.”Russell Westbrook has faced a lot of criticism throughout his career due to his frequently ineffective playing style and his aggressive past interactions with the media, but most of it is unjustified if his teammates—who, let’s face it, probably know best—are to be believed. This most recent deed of kindness is just one more illustration of why.
