Draymond Green injures ankle days before Warriors training camp

According to various reports, Draymond Green suffered a sprain to his left ankle just a few days before the beginning of the training camp for the Warriors.

Draymond Green suffers ankle injury days before start of Warriors training camp.

According to ESPN, Green suffered the injury while playing a game of pickup basketball at the Chase Center. As a result of the setback, it is possible that Green will be out of the Warriors lineup for “anywhere from three to six weeks,” as stated by Jason Dumas of Bleacher Report.

It was made clear by Dumas that Green’s ankle ailment is not a more serious form of high-ankle sprain, despite the fact that the injury will take Green out of the rotation.

ESPN reports that the Warriors know Green’s recuperation timeline but are waiting for him to uncover it. This might take place on Monday, when Green is allegedly slated to speak with reporters during the team’s media day.

The 33-year-old player just returned to the Warriors under a four-year, $100 million deal extension that was signed in June. He is anticipated to play a significant role in the Warriors’ upcoming season alongside Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and new adversary-turned-teammate Chris Paul.

Paul told reporters shortly after being traded to the Warriors, “I feel sorry for the other teams that are going to have to play against both of us.” “Since he’s always been very outspoken, just like I am,” she said. I’ve always done well when I was around individuals like that,”

Even if he needed the full six weeks to recover from his injury, Green would still be able to play for the Warriors in their second preseason game, which will be against the Los Angeles Lakers.

They will play the Lakers in the first game of the preseason, which will take place on October 7. They will then play a total of four games against the Kings, two against Los Angeles, and one against the Spurs to round out their schedule.

Green was sidelined for a chunk of the 2021-22 season due to a back ailment, but he made his comeback the following season, 2022-23, playing in 73 games and averaging 8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game.

Green will be participating in his 12th season in the NBA this year. He has been a part of the Warriors’ championship teams in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022.
