According to reports, Jrue Holiday will be joining the Boston Celtics. Just four days ago, the Milwaukee Bucks sent him to the Portland Trail Blazers in a three-team transaction that sent Damian Lillard to join forces with Giannis Antetokounmpo.

There were a number of teams interested in acquiring the 33-year-old Holiday, so it was widely assumed that the Trail Blazers would sell him.

To acquire Holiday from the Portland Trail Blazers, the Boston Celtics have sent Robert Williams, Malcolm Brogdon, a first-round selection in 2024, and an unprotected first-round pick in 2029.

As NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski pointed out, “the Celtics were among the teams at the very top of Holiday’s wish list in recent days and expectation is the Celtics are eager to retain him long term,” according to Holiday’s sources.

Holiday has one more year on his contract. With a substantial trade package, Boston outbid many teams in both leagues.By joining the Bucks’ divisional foes, the Celtics, Holiday brings an intriguing new dimension to the Eastern Conference.
