The Seattle Mariners scored three runs, while the Texas Rangers scored two
It feels familiar, doesn’t it?
Player of the Game: It’s difficult to argue against Jordan Montgomery’s performance, as he pitched six innings of playoff-ready baseball, allowing just one solo home run to Texas. Montgomery was in danger more often than Seattle starter Logan Gilbert, but he produced another outstanding game to get out of the few jams he found himself in.
Sadly, the offense produced just one hit in addition to the two solo home runs while Montgomery was dealing. This is a dangerous situation for Texas because their bullpen is designed to let us down.
Next up: RHP Nathan Eovaldi of Texas will face RHP Bryan Woo of Seattle in the second game of this decisive series between the Rangers and Mariners.
BS Southwest will broadcast the first pitch from T-Mobile Park on Friday night at 9:10 p.m. CT.
