Reds make big Hunter Renfroe decision after claiming him off waivers from Angels
The Cincinnati Reds have decided to designate Hunter Renfroe for assignment not long after claiming him off waivers.
At the moment, the Cincinnati Reds are only 0.5 games behind the Chicago Cubs in the race for the NL Wild Card. In other words, as things heat up, they need to make as much as they can. Hunter Renfroe has been having a hard time since the team picked him up off waivers from the Angels. Because of this, he has been DFA’d.
The Reds have sent outfielder Hunter Renfroe to another team.
Only on August 31 did Cincinnati decide to sign Renfroe, who had been in the league for eight years and was hitting his stride. In 126 games, Los Angeles hit 242 and hit 19 home runs. But since the Halos were no longer in the running for the playoffs, they chose to get rid of a lot of players, including the outfielder.
Since he joined the Reds, Renfroe has only hit.128 in 14 games. Not a lot of data, but Cincinnati wasn’t willing to let him figure it out. This winter, he is a free agent.
