82-68 – The Rangers fail once more, as was to be expected

The Boston Red Sox scored four runs, compared to the Texas Rangers’ two runs.

After a lead-off Marcus Semien home run, the Rangers quickly scored once with their whole, ideal lineup back in action. All night long, they had five hits. Texas thereby brought a one-run lead into the late innings after a herculean effort from starter Jordan Montgomery.

You are aware of what transpired afterwards.

The Rangers are something to marvel at. and even admired. inquired about. Put these in a gallery. Admire the flawless device that was created, just to let you down.

Montgomery (7 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 8 K) was the player of the game. He deserved a better outcome than a no decision, but we also deserved a better outcome than caring about this team.

Next: The Rangers and Red Sox will play the series’ middle game, with Texas RHP Nathan Eovaldi and Boston RHP Tanner Houck scheduled to throw.

The Shed will throw out the first pitch on Tuesday at 7:05 CT.
