Tanner Bibee leaves the game early due to an injury as the Guardians defeat Rangers with a late rally

At Progressive Field on Saturday night, the Guardians defeated the Texas Rangers 2-1 after scoring a run in the eighth inning.

The Guardians ultimately mounted a comeback in the eighth inning after leaving 10 men on base in the opening seven frames. After Steven Kwan hit another RBI single to give the Guardians their first lead, Tyler Freeman’s bloop single to shallow left field restored the score to 1-1.

The Rangers took a 1-0 lead as Evan Carter was brought home by Marus Semien’s RBI double in the fifth inning.

Injury update: Triston McKenzie and Shane Bieber hope to return by year’s end with “calm minds.”

Tanner Bibee, the Guardians’ starting pitcher, pitched well but departed the game early. Bibee left the game because to right hip stiffness after throwing 513 innings, giving up one run and striking out four. Given that the Guardians were already needing to keep track of the rookie’s innings, his 2023 season might already be finished.
