IN CLEVELAND The Guardians (70-78) offense sailed to a 12-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Friday night at Progressive Field because to a breakout performance from Lucas Giolito.
Giolito had a better showing on the recent road trip after getting destroyed in his Cleveland debut against the Minnesota Twins, and then he was fantastic on Friday night, striking out 12 and allowing just two hits in seven scoreless innings.
Ramon Laureano (2-for-2, one RBI), Kole Calhoun (1-for-5, two RBI), and Andres Gimenez all hit home runs in the victory.
Josh Naylor had a 4-for-5 overall record, a double, and three RBI.
