FIFA farce: Vinicius Junior is not on the List of Players Nominated for The Best FIFA Awards

On Thursday, September 14, 2023, FIFA published the list of players that have been nominated for the Best Player Award or The Best FIFA.

Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Erling Haaland are among the players listed as nominees for The Best FIFA award.

Messi and Haaland competed in the nominations for the 2023 Ballon d’Or before being nominated for The Best FIFA.

However, the list of nominees for The Best FIFA omitted a lot of notable players and managers.

Lionel Scaloni, the coach of Argentina, and Emiliano ‘Dibu’ Martnez, the goalkeeper of Argentina, are among those who aren’t up for the award for best goalkeeper or best coach.

FIFA revealed the nominees for The Best award, which will recognize the best player, best female and male coach, best goalie, as well as best fan, on Thursday.

However, there are other important Argentine national team players who undoubtedly draw notice, such as Lionel Scaloni and Emiliano Martnez. In the first nomination, Lionel Messi and Julián Alvarez were on the list.

Along with eleven other well-known players, the Argentine striker from Inter Miami and Erling Haaland from Manchester City will each fight for the greatest footballer title.

Football greats Kilyan Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, and Rodri are also on the list.

They only recognized five coaches, not Lionel Scaloni, who led the Argentina National Team to the FIFA World Cup victory.

Emiliano Martnez, the Albiceleste’s main goal scorer, experienced a similar occurrence in the division that honors goalkeepers.

The omission of Vinicius Junior, a key player for Real Madrid, from the list of contenders for best player has caused uproar on social media.

An international panel made up of national team leaders, coaches, journalists, and fans from all over the world will choose the winners of The Best Awards.

Voters must sign in to the official FIFA website in order to cast their votes in any of the open public voting categories.
