Matt Olson, the Atlanta Braves’ first baseman, entered matrimony with his long-term partner, Nicole Olson, in November 2021.

Nicole Olson, born on June 18, 1995, to parents Martin and Jackie Hiller Kidder in Johns Creek, Georgia, has strong ties to her hometown. Her father, Martin, holds the position of Chief Financial Officer at Gain Servicing and Cherokee Funding in Atlanta, Georgia.

Nicole pursued her education at Johns Creek High School until 2013. She continued her academic journey by participating in Globis Study Abroad in Verona, Italy, in 2015, where she explored global and international studies. Later, Nicole enrolled at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business, where she earned her BBA in 2017.

While still a student, Nicole gained professional experience as an intern in CBRE’s advisory and transactional services. Today, she works as a retail tenant advisor/associate at Jones Lang LaSalle, a global provider of commercial real estate services.

In the world of sports, her husband, Matt Olson, signed a substantial eight-year, $168 million contract with the Atlanta Braves before the 2022 season, representing a significant financial commitment from the team. This contract includes an annual salary of $22 million from 2024 to 2029, a notable figure considering that Freddie Freeman, aged 33, earned the same amount in his final two seasons. Additionally, the contract features a $20 million club option for 2030, without a buyout, when Olson will be 36.

Matt Olson transitioned from the Oakland Athletics to the Atlanta Braves on March 14, 2022. The following day, he inked an impressive $80 million contract extension, surpassing Freeman’s eight-year, $135 million contract from 2014 to become the team’s highest-paid player. Throughout his career, Olson has consistently worn the No. 28 jersey, a tradition he has maintained since his 2017 promotion to the Oakland Athletics. This number was chosen after his preferred No. 21, in honor of Jeff Francoeur, was already claimed by Stephen Vogt.

Remarkably, during the 2022 season, Matt Olson was one of just two MLB players, alongside teammate Dansby Swanson, to participate in all 162 games.
